Engine
Drivetrain, fluids, filters, and combustion-system upkeep.
Use VDS-4.5 (Volvo Diesel Spec) or ACEA E9 oil; torque drain plug to 25 Nm, hand-prime filter until resistant. Reset the service reminder in the EVC display after completion. Always replace the O-ring on the filter housing.
Replace the element every 200 hours or once per season. Drain the water-collecting bowl every 50 hours and verify the sensor. Bleed the fuel system via the manual primer before first start after a filter change.
Service annually regardless of hours. Carry a spare impeller, cover gasket, and O-rings. After reassembly, verify a steady water discharge within 15 seconds of cranking — air-bound impellers can warp within a minute.
